I‘m continuing with these posts promoting the relaunch of The Agartes Epilogues trilogy, entitled An Elegy of Heroes. Here’s yesterday’s post if you missed it.
Today’s topic starts with Yn Garr Industries: the massive corporation that started from humble beginnings in the city-states of the Kag in rock quarrying, with a base in the city-state of Cael. Operations soon expanded into transportation infrastructure, mining, and trade. Yn Garr Industries also mass-produces maps, a by-product of their exploration of the continent, which Kefier happily vandalizes at every opportunity.
Yn Garr Industries is responsible for Gorrhen’s Pass, which connects the city-states to the Kingdom of Hafod via land. Their newest project is a tunnel connecting the city-states to Gaspar.
Less known is that Yn Garr Industries is one of the owners of the Boarshind, a mercenary group based in Kago. The company’s position in the barren, lawless land (where neither the city- states nor the kingdom hold jurisdiction) is strategic, ensuring they are close enough to serve clients across the Kag, but far enough to evade authorities when necessary. The group is well-known for taking in all sorts of odds-and-ends jobs and has members from all across the southern continent, including Jin-Sayeng.
