I‘ve created a handy series guide for anyone wondering where to get started with my work.
I love intricately built worlds and stories where the characters live past the pages. So when I started writing in fantasy, I wanted the same feel. But I know a long series can get exhausting, and it’s too easy to lose the grip of a story when you let it go on too much.
One of the ways I’ve dealt with this is to limit myself. Most of my novels are relatively on the shorter end for their genre (my Book Ones always tend to be under 130,000 words). And because I don’t want to alienate or overwhelm people who are just starting out, I’ve made it so that every single one of my series can be read first. Some of the series have overlapping stories (Blackwood Marauders, for example, will closely follow the plot of The Agartes Epilogues), but it is absolutely not necessary to read the others to get a sense of the one you’re in. You could completely ignore the rest of my work and pretend, for instance, that Luc and Co.’s adventures is all there is! Or that Talyien’s story is the main story, as opposed to being the aftermath of Sume’s misadventures in The Agartes Epilogues.
I’ll be refining the infographic as we go along and I write more stuff. For now, click here for the link!
