I think my team must hate me sometimes. There we are, going through sales data and brainstorming early in the morning like we always do, and I’m like, “You know what, let’s make The Agartes Epilogues Book 0.5 a thing.”
And everyone’s all supportive and cheerful but I’m pretty sure they’re all groaning and going off to make voodoo dolls of me to stab. Because on top of my stuff (that over-ambitious trilogy for next year I’ve been yammering nonstop about for months now), we have about five or six World Tree Books we have to get into tip-top shape for release this year (two werewolf erotica books, a couple of historical romances, and one YA fantasy from a new author that I’ve been looking forward to working on for years). Our underpaid artist is working herself to the bone so much, her pants are falling off when she walks.
Ah, you know me and my hyperbole. BUT, this one’s not an exaggeration. And it is a thing I’ve been working secretly on the side for a while. I think it’s supposed to address a lot of the events that are only lightly touched on in Jaeth’s Eye. It’s going to be a completely redundant novella, but the bits and pieces of the events already exist, some having been lifted from that first 150,000-word vomit garbage of the original book that I wrote out some 12 years ago. And it’s going to be told from the point of view of one Oji Kaggawa, who is of course one of the original “heroes” of The Agartes Epilogues even though he dies abruptly by the end of the first chapter of Jaeth’s Eye.
That’s not a spoiler, by the way.
Anyway, you can read what I have on Oneira’s Song on Goodreads.
