So, when I said we were ‘renovating‘, I kind of exaggerated a bit.
It has been a crazy year. Between coordinating with the design, construction, and financing of the house (the latter which often feels like trying to squeeze blood from a lemon), my dog’s illness and death, writing and editing books (and all the work surrounding these), homeschooling my daughter, and working full time in the Civil Engineering industry, my brain is running at full capacity. I feel fatigue creeping around the corner, but I don’t want to rest. Sometimes I wonder if I even know how to; while stress is far from relaxing to me, the lack of stress is a trigger for depression.
I would rather be stressed than depressed.
Oh, and also, this:
Her name is Regan. Add her to the pile of ‘stress I’ve willingly taken on, just because’. She is wonderful, a balm to my wounded soul. Also, we named her after the girl from the Exorcist, because she is kind of–well, actually, very much–a bitch.
So that, so far, is what I have been up to. I am also about 12% through with the first round of editing for Aina’s Breath. I have also written two chapters for the last book of the trilogy, Sapphire’s Flight. My upcoming book Birthplace is still in the final rounds of editing, so more updates for that to come.
